Two craft galleries on either side of the Blue Ridge Mountains are trying to promote tourism between the two areas.

The weekend kicked off the first Bridge the Gap for Art: Gallery Hop between Noon Whistle Pottery in Stanardsville and Solace Studios in Elkton. Together the two showcased art, music, and wine all crafted by people from the area.

“We think that the more that people know that there is art in the area you know to help each other you know we're stronger together if we work together, there are so many places, small businesses in the area that like to work together,” said Holly Horan, co-owner of Noon Whistle Pottery.

The gallery hop features work from area artists and will go on until May 31. However, both shops said it will be just the beginning of a new collaboration between both counties.
