CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - The Charlottesville Democratic Party held its largest fundraiser of the year as it prepped for election season.

Dozens gathered at Fry's Spring Beach Club for the 19th Annual Political Pasta Supper and auction.

The organization said the event raised a majority of their funds for the year and gave members a chance to engage with and hear from community members.

“We have some really great ideas about how to get the community more engaged, how to get us more involved in the community and so we need funds for that,” said Ivy Hinton, the co-chair of the Charlottesville Democratic Party.

Leaders of the Charlottesville Democratic Party said they plan to focus on city council elections before turning their attention to state-wide elections later in the year.
