03/21/2019 United Way Press Release:

United Way of Greater Augusta’s Free Tax Program, Valley VITA, still has walk-in hours available.

Valley VITA utilizes Volunteers to provide FREE Tax Services for residents of Staunton, Waynesboro and Augusta County whose household income is less than $56,000 a year. So far this year, we have filed over 600 returns for the community.

Tax payers can file their taxes by stopping by one of our Walk-In sites: Stuarts Draft High School on Tuesday evenings 5pm-8pm(no services provided March 26th due to Spring Break) and Booker T Washington Center in Staunton on Thursday evenings 4pm-8pm. We will also accept drop offs at the United Way of Greater Augusta office on 24 Idlewood Blvd in Staunton, Mon-Fri 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

For those that want to file their own return, they can visit www.myfreetaxes.com. The service is free for those whose income is less than $66,000.

Last year, Valley VITA volunteers completed almost 1,100 returns for the community, saving clients over $200,000 in filing fees alone.
