STAUNTON, Va. (WVIR) - It's been almost three months since the Shenandoah LGBTQ Center moved into its permanent home and officials said the response has been great.

The center provides resources and coordinates services for people in the LGBTQ community. Twice a month the center holds peer-to-peer support groups and regularly schedules community events like zine making and a potluck-game night coming up at the end of March.

"I keep hearing over and over again so many people who are so grateful that we're here because it's a safe place where they can just come and be themselves, hang out with other people and find support,” said Emily Sproul, with the Shenandoah LGBTQ Center.

The Shenandoah LGBTQ Center is located on the fifth floor of the Old Masonic building in Downtown Staunton.
