CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - Charlottesville police helped get a hawk out of a woman’s car on Tuesday morning.

According to the department, the hawk got lodged into the woman’s car while she was driving on Route 29 early Tuesday, March 19.

Officers safely rescued the hawk and turned it over to the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries.

The hawk was then taken to the Wildlife Center of Virginia in Waynesboro, where it later had to be put down due to its injuries.
