University of Virginia Medical Center Projected to Lose $2 Million in Federal Funding
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - The University of Virginia Medical Center is projected to lose about $2 million in federal funding.
The federal government found high rates of injuries and infections among the hospital's patients.
UVA Medical Center is one of 18 hospitals in Virginia facing these penalties as part of a program designed to pressure facilities to address these issues with patients.
The hospital said the program's methods to calculate these financial reductions are flawed.
