CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - People in Charlottesville packed IX Art Park Saturday afternoon to celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day celebration.

Radio station, WTJU 91.1FM hosted the event to raise money for a new studio.

Families enjoyed listening to Irish tunes from live bands, along with food and drink specials.

The event was free overall, but a $35 ticket also got attendees a 4-pour flight and free appetizer from Three Notch'd Brewing and a t-shirt.

"Part of WTJU mission, really our core mission, is to bring people together through shared music experiences. This is a big part of how we do that, besides just spinning great records on the air, we also put together these free live outdoor events at the IX art park a lot,” said Nathan Moore, general manager of WTJU 91.1FM.

On March 30, WTJU 91.1FM will have an open house at their new studio for the public to come enjoy.
