Orange County Company to Hold Job Fair to Recruit Workers
ORANGE COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) - A tool company in Orange County is in need of more help.
Ridgid Products is hosting a job fair on Saturday, March 16, as demand grows for its products.
Right now, the unemployment rate in Orange County is very low – around 2.7 percent, according to the plant manager at Ridgid.
However, that low percentage is making it hard to find workers so Ridgid Products will hold a job fair with on-site interviews in an attempt to increase its labor base.
It's looking to hire eight to 10 people for various positions, including machine operators, assemblers, maintenance, and a materials planner.
To qualify, you must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
"Our business is really good right now,” Mike Rutkowski, the plant manager, said. “We've had record sales growth the last couple years, so we're adding more people to support that, we've had some new products come along and we're building some of these newer products here."
Employees will also get benefits, including life insurance, matching 401(k), and short and long-term leave.
Saturday’s job fair will run from 9 to 11 a.m., and no appointment is needed. If you can't make it, Rutkowski says the company's jobs are listed on Indeed.com and people can also apply in person Monday through Friday.
