Staunton City Schools Passes Budget to Raise Pay for School Employees
STAUNTON, Va. (WVIR) - Staunton City Schools has passed a budget that includes a 3 percent raise for all school employees.
The school board was unanimous in its decision during its regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, March 11.
The budget also includes six new positions.
Superintendent Garett Smith says that a 6 percent pay increase over the last two years has surpassed the governor's recommended 5 percent.
The budget will be presented to Staunton City Council on March 28.
