ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) - On Saturday night dozens of artists of all ages and abilities showed off their work at the annual Visual Art Show.

The exhibition at the Carver Recreation Center showcased artwork from people with different kinds of mental and physical disabilities.

Access Arts, an organization in the Charlottesville-Albemarle area focused on promoting art opportunities for people with disabilities, put the event together.

Diana Wilson, Art Show Coordinator, said, “There's a lot of people who are coming who have their artwork up, and as I mentioned before there are some people here who never get to put their artwork up any other place and so to them this is very important and they feel very special.”

Many of the pieces are up for sale.

The artwork will be on display at the Carver Recreation Center until August 23.
