CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - Police have charged one person with reckless driving after a crash Tuesday night on the Route 250 Bypass in Charlottesville.

First responders were called out to the 800 block of the bypass around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 5.

Authorities believe the driver of a Honda Civic crossed the median and struck multiple vehicles in the westbound lane.

The Honda driver was taken to the University of Virginia Medical Center for treatment.

No one else was hurt.

On March 5, 2019, at approximately 2038 hours, officers responded to the report of a multi-vehicle crash in the 800 block of the Route 250 Bypass at the Locust Avenue interchange.

Upon arrival, officers located a 1997 Honda Civic and a 2005 Toyota Highlander involved in a crash. It appears the driver of the Honda was traveling eastbound on the Route 250 Bypass crossed the median, and hit other vehicles in the westbound lanes.

The driver of the Toyota was not injured. The driver of Honda was taken to UVA Hospital for treatment, and was charged with reckless driving.
