CAPE CORAL, Fla. - A woman accused of trying to escape from police did so because she allegedly wanted a cheeseburger.

Tiara Crace, 26, was caught speeding on Del Prado Boulevard shortly after 3 a.m. on Sunday when an officer tried to pull her over, police said.

She didn't stop.

Instead, Crace led the officer on a chase that came to a temporary end when she turned into the gated community of Coral Lakes.

The officer was still able to run her license plate which returned an address within the community.

After officers were able to get past the gate, Crace was seen running across a street towards her vehicle before getting in and starting it.

She then led police on yet another brief chase.

It ended after she pulled into the driveway of 2742 Blue Cypress Lake Court, the same address police obtained after running her plates.

Crace then surrendered to police at the home.

She told her mother that the reason she ran was that she wanted a cheeseburger, police said

Crace was booked in the Lee County jail on two recommended charges of resisting law enforcement without violence.

No details have been made available on the cheeseburger that Crace desired.
