CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - Some University of Virginia students weathered the cold rain in hopes of raising money for survivors of domestic violence.

Members of Team One Love and One Less, both of which advocate for survivors of sexual abuse, hosted a fundraiser Tuesday, February 12. They asked for donations in exchange for some sweet, homemade treats.

Proceeds from Tuesday’s event benefit Charlottesville's Shelter for Help in Emergency.

“We just think it's important given current events to let survivors - both male and female - know that there are people who believe them and will speak out for them,” said Tallulah Tepper, Team One Love at UVA.

Students plan to host another fundraiser on UVA Grounds Wednesday and Thursday.
