ORLANDO, Fla. - An 8 to 9 foot-long alligator trapped a Florida woman in her home for several hours Thursday afternoon.

The Orlando woman said she was trying to leave her home, but the gator camped out against her garage door.

A trapper hired by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission arrived to try to capture the animal.

However, wildlife officials said the animal was extremely aggressive making capture too difficult and dangerous. The trapper hauled the gator away and it was eventually shot and killed.

The trapper said the gator likely came from a retention pond across the street.

Homeowner Victoria McCalister said this isn't the first time an alligator has shown up in her yard, but this one certainly the biggest one.
