AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) - Former 6th District congressional candidate Jennifer Lewis is throwing her hat into the ring for Dickie Bell's 20th District seat in the Virginia House of Delegates.

Bell has served in the General Assembly since 2010, but the Republican who represents Staunton, Waynesboro, and parts of Augusta and Nelson counties is set to retire this year.

Lewis, who is a Democrat, lost last year to Republican Ben Cline for outgoing Representative Bob Goodlatte's seat in Congress.

She is set to host an official campaign kickoff on Saturday, February 9, at Seven Arrows Brewery in Waynesboro at 6 p.m.
