Republican Dave Bourne Enters Race for 20th District Seat
A Staunton man has announced his bid for the 20th District seat in Virginia's House of Delegates.
STAUNTON, Va. (WVIR) - A Staunton man has announced his bid for the 20th District seat in Virginia's House of Delegates.
Dave Bourne is seeking the Republican nomination for the district that consists of parts of Augusta and Nelson counties, including the cities of Staunton and Waynesboro.
The husband and father of two sons has spent the past 27 years working in the bail bond industry.
Over the last few years, he's worked with legislature in his role with the Virginia Bail Association.
"I've worked with many delegates and senators on both sides,” Bourne said. “I've gained their trust. I've won their respect and I've gotten things done in Richmond. I am a proven leader."
Bourne says his priorities include funding first responders, improving standards for long-term care, inmates working with shelter animals, and creating an economic development team for the district.
The 20th District seat is currently held by Republican Dickie Bell, who's been in the position since 2010.
