ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) - The Albemarle County Architectural Review Board has approved plans for a Wawa off Route 29 and Proffit Road.

The board and Wawa have been fine-tuning details for the proposed building for months now.

The general layout has remained the same, but there are changes in landscape and design.

“We actually designed a building specific to Charlottesville, working with the ARB members independently over that year or so,” Jeb Bell, a Wawa real estate engineer, said. “This has been a fun project for us to work on.”

If Wawa is greenlighted by the board of supervisors, the store could open by the end of the year.
