Man upset over wait throws hot coffee at McDonald's employee
CAMDEN, S.C. (AP) - Police have arrested a man for throwing hot coffee at an employee at McDonald's, because he was upset over the wait.
Earlier this month, Camden police released a picture of a suspect asking if people could identify who he was.
Police said the man had thrown a cup of coffee on a 16-year-old girl's face.
Joshua Noel turned himself in for the crime this week. Multiple people identified Noel as the driver.
In the original police report, the teen employee told investigators Noel pulled up to the drive-thru window asking for a larger order of fries because he had to wait too long. He also asked to speak to a manager, and the teen said he began "acting obnoxious."
Moments later, the girl told police he took the lid off a cup of coffee, and threw it in her face.
If convicted, Noel faces up to three years in prison.
