Harrisonburg Police Continue Investigating Burglaries in College Housing
The Harrisonburg Police Department and the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office are currently investigating a series of burglaries that occurred in college housing over fall and winter break.

Harrisonburg, Va. – The Harrisonburg Police Department (HPD) and the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) are currently investigating a series of burglaries that occurred in college housing over fall and winter break. At this time, 30 burglaries have been reported in college housing during the time frames of November 17th-26th, and December 15th-January 6th. The majority of these burglaries occurred at the Copper Beech Townhomes subdivision and the Aspen Heights Harrisonburg subdivision.
The HPD and RCSO are actively seeking information regarding these burglaries. Any information that leads to the arrest of an offender or the recovery of stolen property is eligible for a cash pay- out of up to $1,000 through the Crime Solvers program. In 2018 alone, Crime Solvers paid almost $5,000 to “tipsters” for providing valuable information about crimes that occurred in the Harrisonburg/Rockingham area. “Tipsters” can receive their reward without having to provide their name or ever having to testify in court.
