ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) - If you've got a lead foot or a light out or expired tags, watch out.

Albemarle County police have a watchful eye and are cracking down on traffic violations in dangerous spots.

In just one 45-minute period on Wednesday, January 9, police wrote 12 tickets for people going up to 76 miles per hour in a 55 zone on the 250 Bypass near Fontaine Avenue and Interstate 64.

Police say they'll be out more this year to encourage people to try to cut down on their speeds in order to lessen the chance for accidents.
