UVa junior guard Ty Jerome had a season-high 25 points helping Virginia to a 69-52 win over South Carolina Wednesday night in Columbia, SC.

Jerome also had seven assists and six rebounds.   Kyle Guy had 18 points and Mamadi Diakite had 10.

It was Virginia's first game after taking ten days off for final exams.

Virginia led by seven at halftime.

The Gamecocks closed to 35-31 on Felipe Haase's 3-pointer early in the second half, but the Cavaliers then grabbed control with a 17-4 run. Jerome opened the decisive stretch with a 3 and Braxton Key's dunk made it 52-35 with 13 minutes left.

Virginia shot 44 percent from the field and held USC to just 36 percent.

The Cavaliers improve to 10-0 and play host to William & Mary on Saturday.
