CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - The head of Charlottesville's schools will be staying with the division for at least four more years.

On Thursday, December 6, the Charlottesville School Board voted unanimously to renew its contract with Superintendent Rosa Atkins through the 2023 academic school year.

Atkins started her role in 2006, making her one of the longest-serving superintendents in division history.

In 2010, she was named "Superintendent of the Year" by the Virginia Association of School Superintendents.
