BLACKSBURG, Va. (WVIR) - The Virginia and Virginia Tech football teams will be facing off for the 100th this weekend, as the Cavaliers travel to face the Hokies in Blacksburg.

Tech has won 14-games in a row over UVa, and eighteen of the last nineteen, but the Wahoos will enter this game as the favorites.

Virginia has a record of 7-4 overall, and 4-3 in the ACC.

The Cavaliers are headed to a bowl game for the second year in a row.

Virginia Tech (4-6, 3-4 ACC) is struggling down the stretch in Justin Fuentes' third season.

The young Hokies have lost four games in a row, heading into Friday's Commonwealth Clash.

"A tremendous challenge," says Fuente.  "Bronco has done a tremendous job with his squad.  They're playing with confidence, and toughness, and discipline, and deserve the success that they've had this year.  It'll be a tremendous challenge for our guys."

Senior defensive lineman Ricky Walker says, "Most guys don't really know about this game.  Maybe they saw it on TV last year, or they redshirted, and they didn't play.  It's going to be tough.  It'll be a great battle, and at the end of the day, we just want to keep that cup in Blacksburg."

The 'Hoos and Hokies kickoff on Friday at 3:30 PM in Blacksburg.
