Harrisonburg Police Make Arrest in Armed Robbery
On November 8, 2018 a search warrant was conducted by the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office, Staunton Police Department, and members of the Harrisonburg Police Department in Grottoes, VA.

Harrisonburg, Va. – On November 8, 2018 a search warrant was conducted by the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office, Staunton Police Department, and members of the Harrisonburg Police Department in Grottoes, VA.
During this search, several items of evidence related to a burglary of firearms in Augusta County were recovered. Those firearms are believed to be the same used during the armed robbery that occurred in Harrisonburg on November 6 at the 7-Eleven on North Main Street.
In addition to these items, several additional items were recovered during the search linking the suspects to the armed robbery in Harrisonburg.
Two suspects detained at the scene, were identified as Tomas Guevara Jr., 20, of Grottoes, VA and a second juvenile male, 17, of Grottoes, VA. Both were charged with armed robbery and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.
Guevara Jr. was taken to the Middle River Regional Jail and the juvenile was transported to the Shenandoah Valley Detention Center where he was also charged in connection to the previous burglary by Augusta County deputies.
