Stuarts Draft Woman Charged in Connection with Child Abduction
The Augusta County Sheriff's Office charged Caitlynn N. Hearn with abduction, violation of a protective order, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
11/07/2018 Release from the Augusta County Sheriff's Office:
On November 6, 2018, at approximately 6:45 a.m., the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Greenbrier Ln., Stuarts Draft, regarding a 1-year-old child that had been taken by his mother from a third party.
The complainant indicated that the parent, 25-year-old Caitlyn Hearn, was prohibited from having contact with the child.
Further investigation revealed that Hearn was the subject of a protective order, issued by the court, and was prohibited from having any contact with the child.
Prior to calling 911, the complainant reported that Hearn arrived on Greenbrier Ln., was involved in an argument with the caller, and then fled with the child.
Hours later Hearn was located in Stuarts Draft and arrested, with the assistance of the US Marshall Service, without incident. The child was found, unharmed, in the City of Waynesboro.
Hearn was charged with:
- Violation of a protective order
- Contributing to the delinquency of a minor
