Update: Victim Identified in Fatal Plane Crash in Louisa
Virginia State Police responded to a fatal plane crash in Louisa County on Sunday.
LOUISA COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) - Virginia State Police responded to a fatal plane crash in Louisa County on Sunday.
Around 3 p.m., police responded to a crash on the 400 block of Chalklevel Road in Louisa. The pilot of the small, private plane did not survive the crash, according to a VSP spokesperson.
The victim of the crash has been identified as Timothy Henson of Palmyra. The 70-year-old died at the scene of the accident and was the plane's only occupant.
The plane was an experimental aircraft that took off from the Louisa County Airport. It crashed in a clearing on private property
The FAA and NTSB have been notified. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
