ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) - We're just under a week from Election Day, and candidates are crossing the commonwealth to get out the vote.

Senator Tim Kaine stopped in Crozet Thursday, November 1, trying to get people energized. The Democrat joined voters at a meet-and-greet Starr Hill Brewing.

With just five days until the election, the incumbent was sharing his continued message of building a Virginia that works for all.

Kaine was welcomed by a cheering crowd as he addressed supporters at the brewery. The senator focused on rallying support for Leslie Cockburn in her race for the 5th District, issues important to his campaign, and people engaging in grassroot efforts in the final days of the race.

Kaine's opponent, Republican Corey Stewart, is also campaigning in the NBC29-viewing area Thursday. The GOP challenger is scheduled to at the Augusta County Government Center 7 p.m.
