CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - Investigators are now naming the man killed in a crash outside a Charlottesville restaurant on High Street Monday afternoon.

Authorities say 54-year-old Joseph Mark Audia of Louisa County died after a pickup truck careened into the restaurant’s parking lot Monday, October 29. That truck knocked another vehicle into Audia, who was pronounced dead at the University of Virginia Medical Center.

The Charlottesville Police Department is not releasing the driver's name at this time, and says charges have not been filed.

The investigation is ongoing.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA& - On October 29, 2018 at 1:13 p.m. Charlottesville Police Officers responded to the 1400 block of East High Street for a crash with injuries to a pedestrian.

The crash occurred in the parking lot of the Jak'n Jil Restaurant.

Rescue responded and transported the victim to the University of Virginia Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

The victim was identified as 54-year-old Louisa County resident Joseph Mark Audia. Mr. Audia was standing beside his vehicle, when a pickup truck struck another vehicle knocking it into him.

The Charlottesville Police Department’s Traffic Unit responded and is investigating the case. The driver of the vehicle involved has been cooperative with investigators.

The driver’s name is not being released at this time and no charges have been filed, however, the investigation is ongoing.
