ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) - A Shenandoah Valley man convicted on charges related to child pornography will have to wait until next year to learn his punishment in Albemarle County.
Albert Henry Christy, Junior was scheduled to be sentenced in Albemarle Circuit Court Tuesday, October 30. The Crimora-area man had entered an Alford plea to nine charges on September 27, 2017. The plea means Christy admit there was enough evidence to convict him on those charges, but does not admit guilt. Four other charges were dropped.
As a result of his plea, a judge found Christy guilty on one count of reproduction, and eight counts of distributing child pornography.
Christy is already serving a prison sentence out of Augusta County for having five images of child pornography. His sentencing in Albemarle County is now scheduled for February 4, 2019.
