CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - A Charlottesville-based company is asking for donations to help victims of Hurricane Florence.

Sigora Solar is collecting essential items until Friday at its Harris Street office. He company is asking people to drop off non-perishable food items, first aid supplies, water, baby care supplies, and hygiene products.

Sigora Solar said this is important to them because they have recently expanded into North Carolina and want to give back.

“We are part of these communities and we have people that work for our company and it’s more than just operating it for profit,” said marketing manager for Sigora Solar Madeleine Ray. “We like to make sure that we’re involved in our employees’ lives as well and then the lives of our customers.”

The company says people can drop off items during business hours or make a donation through their website. Sigora Solar plans to take a small team to the Carolinas on Tuesday to deliver the items.
