CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - The fight to remove Confederate statues in Charlottesville now has a billboard in the city.

The Make It Right Project paid for a sign that went up Tuesday, September 4, on East High Street.

The billboard calls for the removal of monuments glorifying leaders of the Confederate Army.

Organizers say the sign is there to bolster Charlottesville's anti-racist efforts to remove the Robert E. Lee and Thomas Johnathan “Stonewall” Jackson monuments.
