CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - The University of Virginia was calm and quiet on Sunday morning following the excitement the previous evening.

Not much was left over from the student rally near the Rotunda on Saturday, August 11.

People were out walking, running, and enjoying the morning.

“It's really a nice healing experience from some of the turmoil that we're having,” Kathy Butler, who lives in Charlottesville, said. “But this is an area where it's great that we have the ability to have freedom of speech and do it safely and have the support to be able to do that."

Barricades are still up and in place, and item bans remain.
