CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - Update: Charlottesville police were back at the scene of the shooting Saturday morning.  Authorities say they found a pistol along Concord Avenue around 9 a.m. Saturday, August 11.

Charlottesville police are searching for the gunman who opened fire on a teenage boy Friday night.

Police were called to the intersection of Cynthianna Avenue and Forest Street around 11:20 p.m. on Friday, August 10.

Officers on scene say one teenage boy was transported to the hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries from a gunshot wound.

Witnesses on the scene say they saw nearly a dozen boys fighting in the street before hearing gun shots.

Police have located two shell casings, but say the shooter is still at large.
