CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - Signs are up around the city of Charlottesville reminding drivers of potential trouble-spots near the downtown area.
Locations such as Long Street at the bottom of Pantops Mountain as well as Fifth Street and Preston Avenue have signs warning drivers of potential delays and road closures near downtown. The signs also warn drivers to use alternate routes if possible.
While warnings of these delays and closures have been put out by the city for days, the goal is to warn drivers from out of town who may not be aware of the security measures being activated at 6 p.m. on Friday evening.
