07/13/2018 Release from the Augusta County Sheriff's Office:
At approximately 0630 hours, July 12, deputies were dispatched to the area of Paine Run Road and East Side Highway for an assault.
Responding deputies found the victim, a 23-year-old female seated in her vehicle, in the 2500 block of E. Side Hwy., Grottoes, VA.
Further investigation revealed that the victim and a male, later identified as Vadim Bondaruk, were in the victim’s car when an argument erupted. As the victim drove, Bondaruk allegedly started hitting and choking her, causing her to run off the road. Still under attack, the victim attempted to flee and call 911. Bondaruk was later taken into custody and charged with:
- ABDUCTION BY FORCE
- DOMESTIC ASSAULT
- INJURE TELEPHONE TO PREVENT HELP
Bondaruk was jailed at MRRJ, following his arrest.
