CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - The Charlottesville Tom Sox are thanking local firefighters, law enforcement, and emergency responders for all that they do for the community.

On Monday, July 9, the baseball team hosted First Responders Appreciation Night at Charlottesville High School.

The Tom Sox faced off against the Front Royal Cardinals in a doubleheader.

First responders and their families got free admission and parking.

“Well, so often they don't get - we don't hear positive about our fire and police, and you know, they are some of the greatest people you will ever want to meet and they are great with us and they come out and they support us,” says Joby Giacalone, Tom Sox’s director of promotions.

On Tuesday, July 17, the Charlottesville Tom Sox will host Military Appreciation Night.

Anyone who has served or is currently serving in any branch of the armed forces will get in for free with their family.
