Incredibly rare footage captured Monday shows a blue whale and her calf playing with a few bottle-nose dolphins off the coast of San Diego, California.

The whales are swimming along when an energetic pod of bottle-nose dolphins swims over to the pair.

Blue whales are extremely endangered. There are only roughly 2,000 left in the entire northeast Pacific Ocean.

Sightings of blue whales have become increasingly rare off the coast of Southern California as the waters have become too warm.
