Charlottesville Art Park Again Offers Repair Cafe

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - People in Charlottesville are again pooling their talents to help their neighbors repair broken items.
Volunteers came together Saturday for the second community-wide Cville Repair Café.
Anyone with household items in need of a fix-up was invited to come by the Ix Art Park. Volunteer fixers were available to offer advice and a helping hand at no cost.
"A lot of people have broken stuff at home and they don't know how to fix it and they don't want to throw it away because it's still good. They don't know what to do. It's not always cost effective to take it to a professional, so here we have volunteers who are just glad to share their skills with everyone else," said organizer Ann Marie Hohenberger.
The repair stations included household appliances, clothing, small pieces of furniture, jewelry, bicycles and more.
