ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) - Albemarle County sheriff's officers and volunteers are getting a big round of applause for their work. Friday night, the Albemarle County Sheriff's Office Foundation hosted a banquet dinner. 

The night celebrated all the officers’ work over the past year, including more than 2,000 hours in the search for University of Virginia student Hannah Graham.

Commonwealth Attorney Elect Robert Tracci was the keynote speaker, thanking the officers and volunteers for their work

“They put their lives on the line every day to protect the security of personnel in the judicial system. They also serve the community in important ways,” said Tracci.

Search and Rescue Coordinator Tim Payne won reserve deputy of the year. 

Officers also received awards for employee of the year and for their years of service.
