The training helps prepare search and rescue teams for anything they might encounter during the real thing.

This year, they have some brand-new equipment. A new thermal camera can spot people that can't be seen with the naked eye.

"This will definitely help us especially at nighttime if we're driving down a trail and someone's off in the woods, it will help us be able to pick that person up much quicker than it would with somebody actually just walking and looking,” says Bobby Shiflett, Chief Deputy.

Every year the sheriff's office raises money for their search team at its annual golf tournament.

Their golf tournament will be open to the public on May 15th at the Old Trail Golf Club.
