ORANGE COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) - One of central Virginia's largest wine festivals came to a close Sunday after attracting more than 7,000 visitors to Orange County over the weekend.

The Montpelier Wine Festival was held on the grounds of James Madison's historic home, and featured horse rides, live music, and wine tasting from more than 20 different vineyards.

The Orange County Chamber of Commerce sponsored the event and says it gives people a taste of what their community has to offer.

“We have so many things to offer. There's history here, there's culture here, beauty, natural beauty and we want folks to come and see that and enjoy it, and this is just one of those opportunities,” said Chamber of Commerce Director Amanda Settle.

In addition to the wine, there were also 50 local craft and food vendors at the festival.
