UVA Launches First Virtual Career Fair
The University of Virginia makes finding a job as easy as point and click. Tuesday the university launched its first-ever virtual career fair.
Job seekers can upload their resumes and chat with representatives from more than 45 companies. The high-tech initiative is helping students avoid the chaos that often comes with traditional career fairs.
Barbara Hampton with UVA Career Services said, "For students who may find career fairs - the larger events where we have maybe 160 employers - if they find that type of environment intimidating or only have one or two employers that they want to target, they know when each employer is available."
A total of 22 Southeastern Conference (SEC) and Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) schools are participating in the program. The career fair runs until Thursday.
