Some of Virginia's business community spent Wednesday in Richmond meeting with Governor Bob McDonnell. The governor declared 2012 the year of the entrepreneur.

Small business owners spoke with the governor's administration Wednesday about how to grow the economy. The administration says fields from high tech industries to agriculture have benefited from reduced regulations and tax credits.

"We understand that competing in the global marketplace in the 21st century cannot be done successfully with 20th century ideas. It has to be done with 21st century ideas," Lieutenant Governor Bill Bolling said.

David King of King Family Vineyard in Crozet also spoke Wednesday, praising the governor's efforts to support the wine industry.
