The Charlottesville Ten Miler presented a $15,000 check today to People and Congregations Engaged in Ministry (PACEM). The money was raised in April from the 10 Miler Run.

Pacem is an interfaith initiative to help congregations provide shelter and meals during winter for the homeless. It costs about $11 a night to be housed in a shelter.

Colleen Keller of PACEM stated, "So PACEM really exists only because of community support and donations of this size are incredible."

$2,500 was also privately donated to PACEM by some of the ten miler runners.
