She started her television career as a morning reporter in Myrtle Beach, SC, at the height of the coronavirus pandemic. Within eight months, she was promoted to weekend morning anchor/reporter. Ashley is from Henderson, NC but isn’t a stranger to Virginia.
She’s a proud 2016 graduate of the illustrious Hampton University, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism.
Before starting her television career, Ashley was a teacher. She taught 6th and 10th grade English in Raleigh, NC, where she encouraged her students to go after their wildest dreams.
Ashley then followed her own words of encouragement and got a taste of television news as a news production assistant at WRAL and never looked back.
Coming back to Virginia to serve the community through storytelling was a priority for Ashley. In her free time, she enjoys nature walks, cooking, and sci-fi series/films. Ashley looks forward to learning more about the culture, history, and impact Richmond has to offer.
