Aileen Hnatiuk graduated from East Carolina University with a bachelors degree in Communications with a focus in journalism in May 2018. She joined NBC29 in July 2018.

This Florida native is embracing the mountains and snow. Growing up competing in pageants and playing numerous competitive sports, this job is a perfect match for Aileen.

During her time at ECU she interned for WNCT-TV, WITN-TV, WNCN-TV, worked as a reporter for ESPNU Campus Connection and had a hour long show twice a week as a news/sportscaster for WZMB 91.3FM Greenville where she was a commentator for ECU women’s basketball.

Aileen was also a student-athlete; she was a member of ECU Women’s Volleyball team and a member of Chi Omega Rho Zeta sorority.

When Aileen is not on the sidelines chasing the story, you can find her on the field or on the court playing a sport.
