Sophia Borrelli

Sophia Borrelli is excited to be back in the Roanoke Valley, telling your stories right here in the community! She joined the WDBJ 7 team in September 2021 as the weekend morning anchor and weekday reporter. Most recently, Sophia was an anchor and multimedia journalist in Huntsville, Alabama. Before that, you may recognize her because she was in Roanoke for four years. She covered stories all over the Roanoke Valley including presidential visits, murder trials gaining national attention and of course, weather coverage. Before that, she started her television career in Fargo, North Dakota as a reporter.

Sophia graduated from Syracuse University in 2014 with a B.S. in Broadcast and Digital Journalism.

Sophia loves to hike, spoil her two dogs, Sailor and Marina, and volunteer in the community.
