Jacob Phillips joined NBC29 February 2, 2023
Jacob was born in Buffalo, New York, and he bleeds blue and red for his Buffalo Bills.
He moved to central Virginia at a young age, starting in Fredericksburg and eventually moving to Stafford, where he lived for most of his life.
Jacob got his associate's degree at Germanna Community College before transferring to VCU, where he graduated with a degree in broadcast journalism. At VCU, he worked on a student-run sports radio show called The Aftermath and dabbled in various podcasting projects with his classmates.
Jacob also interned at CBS6-WTVR in Richmond, where he sharpened his skills as a reporter by working in a mid-sized news market.
When he is not working, Jacob loves spending time with friends and family. He is always looking for new music to add to his playlist and new food spots to try. He also considers himself to be a pretty decent bowler.
