Virginia Film Festival returns to Charlottesville

The 36th annual Virginia Film Festival will be in full swing starting Wednesday, October 25.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - The 36th annual Virginia Film Festival will be in full swing starting Wednesday, October 25.

More than 150 films will be shown in five days across three locations; Violet Crown Cinemas, The Paramount Theater, and Culbreth Theater on UVA Grounds.

VFF says there will showings from morning to night.

Special guests will be in town for the event.

“On Friday night, we have the US premiere of the new film, Origin, that is directed by Ava DuVernay,” Director of VFF Jody Kielbasa said, “Ava DuVernay will be on hand to accept the Virginia Film Festival’s Visionary Award.”

The Virginia Film Festival runs from October 25-29.
