ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) - Drivers were told to avoid the area around exit 118 of Interstate 64 in Albemarle County Monday afternoon due to nearby police activity.
Albemarle County police say they responded to a call for a person in crisis at Teel Lane and Monacan Trail around 2 p.m.
Police say they shut down both lanes of Route 29 at I-64 Exit 118 for about four hours in connection with the emergency crisis response, out of an abundance of caution.
The incident is now resolved with no injuries and the roadway is open in both directions.
Police say no further information will be released at this time.
Police say there is no threat to the community. In a press release, the Albemarle County Police Department thanked the community for their patience and support during this incident.
